The West Virginia and Regional History Collection, now called the West Virginia and Regional History Center,〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.libraries.wvu.edu/about/news/2013/04/05/wvu-libraries-renames-wvrhc/ )〕 is the world's largest collection of West Virginia related research material. It is located in the Wise Library at West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia. According to the university, the Center includes over 4,500,000 manuscript documents, 30,000 books, 15,000 pamphlets, 1,200 newspapers, 100,000 photographs and prints, 5,000 maps, and 25,000 microfilms, oral histories, films and folk music recordings. It is often called simply the "West Virginia Collection." == Mission == The mission of the West Virginia and Regional History Center is to acquire, provide access to, and preserve information resources in all formats which elucidate the history and culture of West Virginia and the central Appalachian region. As the Special Collections division of the WVU Libraries, the WVRHC also preserves selected information resources beyond the state and regional scope which contribute to the teaching, research, and service mission of West Virginia University.〔https://wvrhc.lib.wvu.edu/about/〕
